Introduction- my first blog

Hello my name is Lisa and this is my very first blog. For some strange reason I have this incredible need to write. Which is very funny to me since I flunked english in school. I was born in Germany and my family migrated to this country in the 70’s. I had to take ESL for several years. Still today I have a hard time with the english language and my vocabulary is quite small.

For the last 30 years or so I have been silently living my life and watching things happen all around me that I have no control over. For some strange reason I think writing will some how make me feel better about my participation in this world. Below you will find a video that means a lot to me. It’s called “It is always now” with Sam Harris. The song is my all time favorite it’s by Moby and its called Blue paper. He talks a bit about how most of us spend so much time talking about things that don’t matter and things that matter we don’t talk about. My blogs shall be about things that I believe are very important to us as a society. Albert Einstein once said that ‘one can’t solve a problem with the same consciousness that created it’.

I want to take this time to talk a little about myself. First of, I am a transgender woman living full time in Los Angeles. I am also an artist. I love working with graphite on cardboard. One thing I like about being transgender is that I am an outcast. Being an outcast can be a good thing because I had to find my way around society differently than most people.  Think about it, just to give you one example. We are not welcomed to most churches. When a member of our group dies we can’t go to the funeral like most people so we have our own ceremonies outside of the normal institutions and away from families. Being an outcast also gave me the perfect opportunity to evolve spiritually and consciously in another direction. I want to make one thing very clear. My blogs will not revolve around me being transgender. This will probably be the last time I mention this.  Don’t want to over-write on my first blog so I will stop here. Please take a moment and listen to the video. Thank you……Lisa
